Department of Social and humanitarian Subjects

Nukus branch of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts was founded in 2008 (Since 2012 it has been called Nukus branch of Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture) until 2014, it functioned mainly as a department of “Socio-humanitarian, Acting and Art History”. In the 2014/2015 academic year, taking into account the contingent, the department was divided into two departments: “Directing and acting” and “Socio-humanitarian and Art History”.

The department of “Socio-Humanitarian and Art Studies” mainly included the specialties “Organization and Management of cultural and art institutions” and “Technogenic art: sound engineering of cinema, television and radio”, in 2018 the specialties “Library massage activity; Library and Bibliography” and “Theatrical playwriting of the stage and screen” were also created. Since May 1, 2019, the department “Culture of folk art and library activities” has been established in our branch. Since May 1, 2019, the department has been renamed the department of “Social and humanitarian subjects”. In 2013-2015, the department was headed by candidate of historical sciences Svetlana Esbergenova, in 2015-2016 – Dilfuza Bekimbetova.

Today, the department is headed by candidate of historical sciences, docent  Larisa Urazova. Currently, the department employs 1 doctor of sciences, 3 candidates of sciences, 1 professor, 2 docents, 6 senior teachers, 10 assistant teachers.
