Department of “Social and Humanitarian Sciences”

When the Nukus branch of the State Institute of Arts of Uzbekistan was opened in 2008 (since 2012 it has been called the Nukus branch of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan), there was one department “Socio-humanitarian, acting and art history”, and in the 2014-2015 academic year the department was divided into two – “Directing and Acting” and “Socio-humanities and art history”. At the time of the department’s creation, there were two specialties – “Organization and management of cultural and art institutions”, “Technogenic art: film, television and radio directing”, and in 2018 “Library and Information activities: librarianship and bibliography” and “Art: stage and screen dramaturgy” were added. Since May 1, 2019, the department has been referred to as “Social and Humanitarian Sciences”. The department was headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences Svetlana Esbergenova in 2013-2015, and in 2015-2016 Dilfuza Bekimbetova. Today, the head of the department is Candidate of Historical Sciences Larisa Urazova. To date, the department employs 3 doctors of Sciences, 3 candidates of Sciences, 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 senior teachers, 10 assistants

Teachers of the department work on their scientific activities, fixing the topics of dissertations.

Professors of the department are participants of the international project “Creative Spark: Higher Education Program”.

On September 5, 2022, teachers of the Department of L.Urazov and A.Prekeeva “Social and Humanitarian Sciences” held Independence lessons “Yangi

Uzbekizonda el aziz, inson aziz!” with the participation of professors-teachers and 1st year students of the Nukus branch of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan. During the celebration of the “Lessons of Independence”, the results of the reforms achieved over the 31st anniversary of Uzbekistan were widely highlighted, based on the ideas put forward in the resolution “On preparing and holding at a high level the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the State independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “Reforms carried out in the years after independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, news in the life of society”, based on the “New Uzbekistan Development Strategy”, “New Uzbekistan – the Third Renaissance”.

To ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 6, 2020 No. УП-6108 “On measures for the development of education and upbringing, and science in the new period of development of Uzbekistan”, teachers of the Department of “Social and Humanitarian Sciences” of the Nukus branch of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan held a meeting with 10th graders of secondary school No.24 Beruni district to strengthen their interest in entering higher education institutions and form thoughts about choosing a profession.

The head of the department, L.Urazova, donated her methodological manual “Ancient Eastern Culture: The Culture of Ancient China” to the school library.

In honor of the holiday “October 1 – Teacher and Mentor Day”, a festive table was laid for the staff of the Nukus branch of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan in one of the most beautiful places in our capital. The event was attended by teachers of the department.

A meeting of professors and teachers of the Department of “Social and Humanitarian Sciences” with the secretaries of the Department for the Prevention of Corruption and combating it took place. At the meeting, the teachers of the department were

familiarized with the resolution ПК-81 of 12.01.2022 “On measures to implement a system of rating evaluation of the effectiveness of anti-corruption work”. They called for preventing and combating corruption in the process of training at the branch.
